“Here’s to the light that we deserve and to the love that we most definitely deserve.” – Carmen Dixon, Youth Activist
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness & Prevention Month (TDVAM). This year, the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NRCDV) is excited about highlighting the work of organizations that center young people and youth-driven initiatives with a specific focus on the voices and experiences of Black and Trans-identified youth facing homelessness and housing instability. NRCDV is also excited to elevate LoveIsRespect’s Know Your Worth campaign, which highlights healthy relationship skills and self-empowerment as critical tools to promote positive, loving youth relationships.
This issue of the PreventIPV newsletter features tools that center and celebrate the leadership of youth, especially Black girls. It includes resources to promote youth activism and young people's well-being by building connected communities that foster resilience, joy, and transformative action.
