Women need to know their rights if sexual harassment at work is to stop, actress Emma Watson said on Monday as she launched a legal advice line for victims in Britain.
Pointing to armed conflict, displacement, climate change, natural disasters and poverty as factors that “exacerbate the vulnerabilities and desperation that enable trafficking to flourish," the UN chief emphasized that “migrants are being targeted." According to the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), some 72 per cent of detected victims are women and girls.
Native girls and women are more likely than average to be the victim of a violent crime. Now, seven states are taking early steps to help better identify and locate Native crime victims.
