In part one of the Enhancing Services to Male Survivors Series, presenters engage in a discussion about including a gender-conscious philosophical framework for enhanced services to male survivors of domestic violence that links to and builds upon the historical roots of the movement against gender-based violence and is consistent with anti-discrimination laws and related grant conditions.

This is the first large-scale, nationally-based, quantitative study to systematically detail the helpseeking experiences of men who have sustained IPV from their female partners. Results are discussed in terms of implications for the social service sector and for future research.

This study, which focused on callers to a helpline that specialized in male victims of intimate partner violence, highlights the voices of male survivors who reached out for assistance and the type of victimizations they experienced at the hands of female perpetrators.
