Victims of domestic violence who are on probation or parole often find themselves having to choose between complying with the conditions and requirements of their sentence and keeping themselves and their children safe from their abusive partners. Community-based advocates can play a critical role in helping survivors successfully complete supervision, particularly when they work in partnership with survivors’ probation or parole officers.
