Healing Across Languages Interpreter Training for Bengali, Korean, and Vietnamese speakers

Wednesday, March 05, 2025, 11:59PM

The HAL Interpreting Skills Training, a comprehensive 40-hour course, aims to address the shortage of qualified interpreters, particularly those who are linguistically diverse, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. Bilingual advocates often find themselves taking on interpreting responsibilities due to this scarcity. The training seeks to expand the pool of competent interpreters and empower advocates with essential skills, fostering a network actively promoting proper language access practices. The course covers various aspects, including Introduction to Interpreting, DV/SA and Language, Equitable Communication Principles, Modes of Interpreting, Healing-Centered Interpreting, and more.

Applications due: March 5th, 2025
