Has a domestic violence survivor ever asked you if she can leave Pennsylvania with her children?
Have you ever worked with a survivor who has fled to Pennsylvania with her children for safety?
The Legal Resource Center on Violence Against Women, in partnership with Women Against Abuse, will provide a free training on basic interstate custody issues. The training will provide an overview of the various federal and state laws that govern interstate custody cases and is designed for victim advocates who wish to understand how these laws fit together. The presenters will use case scenarios to demonstrate how advocates can help survivors address the economic, safety, and legal issues involved when they cross Pennsylvania state lines for safety. This training is supported by the Valentine Foundation.
