Minimum Documentation, Minimum Sharing: How to Respect Survivor Information in a Data-Driven Society

Location Name
Virtual
Event Date
Thursday, April 09, 2026, 03:30PM

In our data-hungry world, it’s important to consider how the information survivors share with us is being collected, stored, and shared. Good documentation practices are just as important as other privacy planning steps, such as digital safety planning and address confidentiality programs.

Join Laisa Schweigert, Senior Technology Safety Specialist with NNEDV’s Safety Net Project, and Alicia Aiken, J.D., Director of the Confidentiality Institute, as we walk through best practices for victim services providers throughout the lifecycle of documentation, from what information is collected and how information is stored to when it is shared.

*We cannot guarantee accessibility requests made less than two weeks before the event.
