Too often survivors have to choose between their personal safety and the safety of their pet. When leaving without their pet isn’t an option, survivors are forced to stay in a dangerous environment. Rose Brooks Center is working to change that by providing the education needed for shelters to safely house pets with their owners. This 4-hour training will provide participants with an understanding of domestic violence as well as:
- How domestic violence and animal abuse are connected
- Federal laws regarding Emotional Support Animals and Service Animals
- How to provide safety to survivors and their pets while protecting your organization
