Transgender Survivors: A roadmap through rural and urban communities to improve services and advocacy

Event Date
Thursday, June 17, 2021, 03:00PM

In this webinar, a brief review of transgender core concepts will create a foundation for exploring more in-depth content on the high rates of intimate partner and sexual violence and victimization, health disparities, and unique experiences of transgender individuals. This webinar will focus on common barriers to services, intersectional dynamics of identities, and the unique experiences of transgender and non-binary individuals living in rural vs. urban areas.

The webinar will also focus on the impact the triple pandemic (COVID-19, racial injustice, and economic insecurity) has had on trans survivors and communities at large, changing the landscape of both victimization and healing/justice. Practical information will help guide advocates and other professionals down the road to providing respectful and effective services for trans and non-binary survivors.
