Credit Counseling Crisis Update: Poor Compliance and Weak Enforcement Undermine Laws Governing Credit Counseling Agencies

A one-page sheet includes the findings, executive summary, and recommendations. The piece is an update to a more extensive report issued in April 2003, Credit Counseling in Crisis listed below. The update lists states that have licensing and registration laws. The report also describes survey results of an 8-state survey (Arizona, Idaho, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, New York) covering numbers of licensing applications, rejections, enforcement actions, and staffing.

Rules Concerning Requests for Information 12 C.F.R. ¤ 202.5(c)

This section of the Code of Federal Regulations, states the rules on request of credit information of a spouse or former spouse.  A creditor can not use information on the other spouse or former spouse of the applicant, except in specific instances of joint use, liability, or reliance on collateral or that spouseÍs income.

Child sexual abuse prevention: Programs for adults

This study, supported by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center comprises the following three components: 1) an analysis of the discourse on sexual violence from expert interviews, 2) one-on-one cognitive interviews with Americans, and 3) a comparative analysis that “maps the gaps” between expert and lay understandings of this topic.
