This assessment reveals the capacity level of the network of individuals, groups and/or organizations that, through their interaction, have the potential to enhance the primary prevention of sexual and intimate partner violence.

This manual addresses the dynamics of domestic violence in immigrant families; ways to create agency-wide cultural competency training programs; multicultural approaches to shelter protocol development; recruiting and hiring multicultural staff; foreign language needs and helpful interviewing techniques for client intake sessions and meetings; ways to do outreach and collaboration with immigrant communities; and, descriptions of model programs.

"We kept reading statistics and observing that men were overwhelmingly the perpetrators of violence against women and girls. Yet, they were invisible to us. We were teenagers and it didn’t occur to us that male violence against women and girls was an issue that needed to be primarily solved by women.”

On September 15, 2010, 91 percent of identified domestic violence programs in the United States participated in the 2010 National Census of Domestic Violence Services. The results were published in this report.

This issue addresses abuse within faith communities, intimate relationships, sexual violence during war, sexual violence within prisons, and working with gay men. It also discusses question oppression, highlights programs serving male survivors, and provides resources.

The Accessibility Responsiveness Tool provides a framework for domestic violence, sexual violence, and disability service organizations to think about the “when, where, what, and how” of providing inclusive, accessible, trauma-informed, and responsive services.

This toolkit focuses on survivors of multi-abuse trauma - those who are affected by multiple issues that negatively affect safety, health, or well-being. It offers practical tools for advocates and community partners, such as health and mental heath care providers, to address the complex needs of survivors of multi-abuse trauma, no matter where survivors enter the social service system.
