Domestic Violence Content Topic Results

This article is based on research conducted in homeless and domestic violence shelters in Phoenix, Arizona, from 1994 to 1996. The author’s report includes results of interviews with thirty-three women. Housing and employment needs are evident and primary.

The paper explores what we know and don't know about the prevalence of dv among poor women and women receiving welfare; the connections that can be drawn between welfare and dv; and the effects of dv on women receiving welfare benefits.
