Racial and Ethnic Differences in Homicides of Adult Women and the Role of Intimate Partner Violence — United States, 2003–2014
Publisher(s): Homicide is the most severe health outcome of violence against women. Findings from this study on female homicide data from the National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS) during 2003–2014 indicate that young women, particularly racial/ethnic minority women, were disproportionately affected.

Pennsylvania Crime Code: Strangulation
Publisher(s):Research into domestic violence fatalities shows that an abuser’s attempt to strangle the victim can be a dramatic predictor of future lethality in intimate partner violence cases. Section 2718 amends Title 18 of the Pennsylvania crimes code and allows defendants to be charged with the crime of strangulation - as well as felony charges in domestic violence cases.

Publisher(s):This report by the Georgia Domestic Violence Fatality Review Project takes a closer look at the suicide-homicide connection. Perpetrators attempted or completed suicide in 38% of cases reviewed by the Project and 37% of perpetrators had threatened or attempted suicide in incidents that occurred prior to the homicide.
