In 2006 the board of directors of Amigas Latinas initiated the Proyecto Latina: Descubriéndonos survey project in order to document and make known the unique experiences and challenges that Latina LGBTQQ women face in Metropolitan Chicago. This report documents the key findings from the project.

While rigorous evaluations of domestic violence support groups have been quite limited, the broader literature on support group efficacy is informative. Taken together, there is a significant body of evidence indicating that peer support groups can alleviate depression and stress, and increase self-esteem, self-efficacy, and psychological well-being.

The purpose of this toolkit is to help tribal child welfare workers and care providers play an effective role in the prevention of suicide among the children and youth they serve. It addresses key youth suicide prevention questions and contains background reading on the issue of suicide in Indian Country and the use of cultural approaches to prevention and community healing.
