This compilation provides practitioners and clinicians with an inventory of existing assessment tools for determining intimate partner violence and/or sexual violence victimization in clinical/healthcare settings.

This curriculum is a foundational resource on the impact of trauma across the lifespan; recommendations for working with survivors experiencing the traumatic effects of abuse, mental health conditions, and/or psychiatric disability; recommendations for collaboration; developing inclusive and trauma-informed services; peer support principles; and legal issues.

Heath care professionals, such as nurses and mental health service providers, are in a unique position to identify and address the needs of older victims of abuse. This article focuses on three main topics: the dynamics of abuse in later life, a victim-centered response, and working collaboratively with other disciplines to offer a comprehensive response to these complex cases.
