This guidance document supports FVPSA grantees in determining the best ways to collect sexual orientation and gender identity data of survivors given the agency’s unique strengths, needs, and community context.

This consent decree sought to address allegations that the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) engages in a pattern and practice of civil rights violations and unconstitutional policing. In developing the decree, the investigators consulted with community leaders and members, police officers, police officer unions, civilian NOPD members, advocates, and other concerned individuals.

This fact sheet highlights key statistics related to domestic violence in the Black community, including both women's and men's experiences of victimization. Featured topics include intimate partner violence, homicide, stalking, and rape.

In order to paint a clearer picture of workplace sexual harassment, the National Women’s Law Center analyzed sexual harassment charges filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission by women in the private sector between 2012 and 2016. This analysis establishes a critical baseline for evaluating the impact, if any, of the MeToo movement on filings with the EEOC in future years.

The goal of these guidelines is to support officers and departments in preparing sexual assault cases for successful prosecution through detailed case documentation and thorough investigations.

Included in the guide are the basics of messaging strategies, the components of an effective message, "rules of the road" for sexual violence prevention messaging, and lots of sample messages to get you started.

Survivors face numerous barriers to keeping or trying to access safe housing. In NRCDV's August 2018 TA Question of the Month, Kris Billhardt of the National Alliance for Safe Housing explores ways that advocates and housing providers can collaborate to meet survivors' housing needs.

This pocket tip card for officers is a convenient, portable resource to accompany the IACP's Sexual Assault Incident Reports: Investigative Strategies. 

The goal of this safety card is to be both a survivor-centered resource and a useful conversation starter for service providers working with Muslim youth who are doing universal education around healthy relationships and assessing for violence. It provides information on healthy relationships and sex, guidance and resources for support, how to help a friend, and cultural and religious factors that play into decision-making.

This survey attempted to gather a well-rounded understanding of multiple forms of sexual violence perpetrated against this population, including whether a woman was raped or coerced into sex. In this initial release of the data, a valuable snapshot is exposed for communities and health care providers serving urban Native women.
