Creating a Model Strangulation Response Protocol for Your Jurisdiction

The Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence & Indiana Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team published the Model Collaborative Strangulation Response Protocol for Indiana Jurisdictions in October 2023. But it took 4 long years, many stops and starts and several revisions along the way. This workshop will walk you through our process to get from recommendation to realization to implementation. We will examine the challenges, the barriers and the pushbacks and discuss how we worked through all of them. This workshop will also address the steps still to be taken and how we are approaching them both ideally and realistically to see the model protocol implemented as widely as possible across your state.
