Location Name
Virtual
Event Date
Wednesday, February 18, 2026, 01:00PM

Generative AI technologies have been rapidly adopted by many people, especially teenagers. This has brought forth a need for advocates working with children and youth who are experiencing dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking to understand how these technologies can create safety concerns. While tools like chatbots can empower teens with enhanced educational opportunities and creative expression, they also introduce significant risks. In this talk, we will explore the impact generative AI is already having on teenagers, and the intersections it has with dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. We will examine how platforms expose teens to various vulnerabilities. Additionally, we’ll offer practical tips for safeguarding youth against emerging threats, including the misuse of AI companions, nudification apps, deepfakes, social media echo chambers, and AI-enabled plagiarism.
