Voices for Victims: Lawyers Against Human Trafficking Tool Kit for Bar Associations

The Bar Association Toolkit was developed to assist state, county, city, and local bar associations in hosting events and panel discussions regarding human trafficking as a means to raise public awareness. It contains information on the myths of human trafficking, a guide for choosing potential speakers, questions for the speakers, glossary of terms and other resources. The toolkit should be used with the film: "Voices for Victims: Lawyers Against Human Trafficking" [07:42].

How can Social Services Block Grants help FYSB grantees meet the needs of youth and families?

Social Services Block Grants (SSBG) provide flexible funding (approximately $1.7 Billion annually) to serve residents through locally relevant social services. This webinar provides information about how SSBG grants may support youth and families served by Runaway and Homeless Youth, Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, or Family Violence Prevention and Services Programs.

SSBG grants support a range of services in communities throughout the country under five broad goals:

Affected For Life

This film is a training tool targeted at prosecutors, judges, law enforcement officers and other specialized audiences, and illustrates the elements and different forms of human trafficking. It can be used to exemplify some of the key facets of human trafficking, including the differences between human trafficking and smuggling of migrants. It is available in abbreviated and full-length versions in Arabic, English, French, Russian and Spanish.

WEBINAR: Trauma-Informed Birth Support for Survivors of Abuse

This webinar, held on Monday, April 21, 2014, provided information for both victim advocates working in shelter settings as well as birth doulas, regarding the identification and impact of domestic violence and abuse in pregnant women. Likewise, the benefits of a partnership between these two groups was discussed as a way to further improve pregnancy and birth outcomes for pregnant survivors.
