Session 2: Panel Discussion: Truth Telling: Rejecting What Divides Us and Imagining New Ways | Sesión 2: Panel de discusión: Diciendo la verdad: rechazando lo que nos divide e imaginando nuevas formas

Led and driven by currently and formerly incarcerated women, the Leadership of Voices of Experience (LOVE) Project has developed a training curriculum for victim service providers that builds providers’ capacity to support system-impacted women and gender expansive people—people who are transgender, gender nonconforming, gender queer, nonbinary.

From spiritual abuse to being a key tenant of survivors’ healing journey, faith plays a critical role in many survivors’ experiences with violence. This webinar gathered four of API-GBV’s partners from a multi-year faith-based advocacy project that reached several Chinese/Taiwanese Christian churches and seminaries, Sikh gurdwaras, and Korean Christian congregations in California.

The National Resource Center on Domestic Violence, in collaboration with partners from across the Pacific Coast region of the United States, held our third virtual Prevention Town Hall on September 14 and 15, 2022. This event was an opportunity to dig deeply into the theme “Prevention is Radical” across 2 days.

Before and Beyond Crisis is a roadmap for expanding our society’s response to gender-based violence beyond short-term crisis support. The roadmap makes survivor-informed recommendations for how every pillar of our society–from banks, hospitals, and schools to policymakers, employers, and other stakeholders–can help build a new ecosystem of support that addresses the reality of how GBV shows up in survivors’ lives. 

This two-part webinar series examined key policies that victim service and disability organizations should have in place to account for unique circumstances in the lives of survivors with disabilities, including personal care attendants, service animals and guardianship.

In November 2020, FreeFrom launched the second round of their Safety Fund and prioritized distributing grants to queer, trans, Black, Indigenous and Latinx survivors. This report details what FreeFrom learned from the process. 

The intersection between domestic violence, housing instability, and homelessness continues to be a pressing issue for the field. To this end, the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence conducted a two-part needs assessment project to assess survivors' current and emerging housing needs, particularly in Black and Brown communities, and to document innovative community-based solutions.

Many domestic violence and homeless shelters are seeing rapid increases in the number of elders seeking shelter. This webinar discusses ways of responding to the needs of Indigenous elders who are experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness and what can be done.

This report shares the stories of 661 survivors impacted by Winter Storm Uri who applied for cash assistance from FreeFrom. The #1 need reported by survivors affected by the storm is access to unrestricted cash.

This white paper from the Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence explores how all local and statewide organizations, corporations, workplaces, and sectors can consider ways to adopt and advance policies that promote economic equity and revamp policies that may hinder success, stability, and safety for employees and communities.
