LGBTQ culturally specific programs have a long history of supporting bisexual men, transgender men, and gay men who have survived domestic violence. This webinar shares the North West Network’s approach to meaningfully supporting male survivors by centering the experiences of bi+, trans, and gay men, and shares tips and best practices in providing advocacy.

The purpose of this Toolkit is primarily to support frontline workers in their work with male victims (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships). This work may be delivered from organizations supporting male victims or in any other setting where men might present as domestic abuse victims looking for information, advice and support.

This article contains guidelines to help psychologists specifically work with men and boys. It emphasizes how traditional masculinity is psychologically harmful and that socializing boys to suppress their emotions causes damage that echoes both inwardly and outwardly.

This review seeks to understand help-seeking by male victims of domestic violence and abuse and their experiences of support services. It aims to address the gap in the review literature focusing on the qualitative research which explores the barriers to formal help-seeking and the experiences of all male victims of DVA with helpseeking services.
