The objectives of the webinar are to: recognize characteristics of runaway and homeless youth (RHY) and the trauma they have experiences, review the Family Youth Services Bureau funded RHY programs, review how the programs meet the need of RHY, review the eligibility requirements for accessing services and how to locate a program in a particular geographic area.

Transgender individuals in particular are impacted by violence and discrimination in ways that both contribute to high rates of homelessness and keep them from accessing necessary shelter and services. These training materials provide CoCs and projects with the framework to create welcoming and inclusive projects for transgender and gender non-conforming people.

This two-part, online module series is designed to support RHY grantees and all youth-serving agencies in adopting a universal, trauma-informed approach to serving youth experiencing unsafe or unstable living situations, homeless youth, and youth who are at risk of becoming homeless.

Although homelessness plagues all veterans, the causes and consequences of having no home are different for women veterans. Young female veterans, including many with children, are increasingly joining the homeless population. Outreach that specifically targets female veterans is needed in order to ensure that these women receive the help they need.
