Some practices in the mental health system may foster unhelpful attitudes or misunderstandings about domestic violence and sexual assault. This presentation provides an overview of the nature of domestic and sexual violence and a general description of community-based advocacy services for survivors. Practitioners will learn about ways to support survivor safety in their practice and the role of safety planning in wellness and recovery plans.

The brochure also describes the Equal Pay Act of 1963, which prohibits sex-based wage discrimination between men and women in the same establishment who perform jobs that require substantially equal skill, effort, and responsibility under similar working conditions.
