This research brief synthesizes the latest available information and research relating to the mistreatment of Latinx older adults, providing insight into general cultural beliefs, views, norms, of Latinx communities and how they relate to and influence elder mistreatment.

This toolkit was designed to provide comprehensive and culturally responsive informational and educational resources, tools, videos, and examples of best practices for law enforcement, forensic interviewers, victim advocates, and others to prepare them to effectively respond to victims of crime with disabilities across the lifespan.

Originally a series of handouts produced in collaboration with partners, this toolkit was expanded and updated by the National Clearinghouse on Abuse in Later Life in 2020.

Risk factors are linked to a greater likelihood of intimate partner violence (IPV) perpetration. They are contributing factors, but might not be direct causes. For many survivors, spirituality and religious beliefs are an integral part of their healing journey. As advocates, we must recognize the importance of this influence and should learn ways to provide the support they need while respecting survivors’ faith traditions. This webinar will help advocates adopt a faith-sensitive lens and will offer best practices for supporting families who are guided by their faith.

Worldwide, Indigenous people are at a higher risk of human trafficking—including both sex trafficking and labor trafficking—than other diverse populations (Administration for Children and Families, 2018). The Human Trafficking Leadership Academy (HTLA) Class 5 fellows worked to address the question, “How can culture be a protective factor in preventing trafficking among all Indigenous youth?” This report offers recommendations for change, healing, and safety for all Indigenous youth.

In September 2020, the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence held its first National Prevention Town Hall. In this breakout session, presenters Shay Upadhyay and Colleen Yeakle highlight rationale for engaging youth in prevention activities and lessons learned from Indiana's efforts to center youth-defined prevention strategies.

In September 2020, the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence held its first National Prevention Town Hall. In the closing plenary of the town hall, panelists Chéree Thomas, Lisa Winchell-Caldwell, and Averett Robey offer wisdom on how the domestic violence field can integrate anti-racism work, intervention, and prevention into one mission.
