Trauma Informed Approach Content Topic Results

This issue brief discusses how educators can begin to understand the role of trauma, its effect on children and learning, and how educators can change methods of interacting and responding to children impacted by trauma.

Aside from setting screening guidelines, this manual discusses barriers faced by women in rural communities when attempting to protect themselves from domestic violence and presents guidelines for coordinating community response to domestic violence.

The purpose of a law enforcement interview with a sexual assault victim is to help them: (1) remember details about their sexual assault, and (2) share those details with investigators. The investigator’s role is then to document this information and evaluate it within the context of the entire investigation.
