Part 2 of the Battered Women's Justice Project's CCR Problem-Solving Series, this webinar explores the role and responsibilities of law enforcement in their initial response to domestic violence cases.

For the eleventh consecutive year, on September 14, 2016, NNEDV conducted a one-day unduplicated count of adults and children seeking domestic violence services in the United States. This annual census documents the number of individuals who sought services in a single 24-hour period, as well as the types of services requested, the number of service requests that went unmet due to a lack of resources, and the issues and barriers that domestic violence programs face as they strive to provide services to victims of domestic violence.

This guide offers organizations information and strategies on building mission effective survivor-defined organizations. It discusses the importance of developing a survivor-defined mission and aligning that mission with the organization’s vision and values, in order to best position the organization to grow and change in ways that make survivors of violence safer.

The National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Protection Order File contains information on court orders which are issued to prevent acts of domestic violence against a person or to prevent a person from stalking, intimidating, or harassing another person.  This presentation thoroughly examines this NCIC file and how it can be used effectively by criminal justice agencies all across the U.S.

This webinar, presented by Reverend Traci Jackson Antoine and Dr. La Donna Combs, specifically addresses how domestic violence advocates can better support African American victims who are faithful.

This document features sample introductory questions that an officer can ask when meeting a person with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). They are based on scenarios that an officer will likely encounter during his or her patrol.

Research into domestic violence fatalities shows that an abuser’s attempt to strangle the victim can be a dramatic predictor of future lethality in intimate partner violence cases. Section 2718 amends Title 18 of the Pennsylvania crimes code and allows defendants to be charged with the crime of strangulation - as well as felony charges in domestic violence cases.

The VTT includes tools and resources tailored specifically to these fields that provide the knowledge and skills necessary for organizations to address the vicarious trauma needs of their staff.

This webinar highlighted the ways in which strengths-centered advocacy can help to mitigate or repair some of the potential negative impacts of domestic violence on children and youth, while also strengthening protective factors that can lead to resilience across the lifespan.
